Helping Kids with Cancer Fundraiser Raffle

Time: Now Through June 8th
Where: Tickets Available at Carriagetown Chocolates, 85 Main Street

Help raise funds to fight childhood cancer!  100% of the proceeds will benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand.  Pick the raffle of your choice:  1.  2 Red Sox Tickets for August 17th; 2.  4 Preseason Patriot Tickets (date to be announced); or 3.  Overnight Stay at the York Harbor Inn (includes gift certificate to a local restaurant).  Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5.  Drawing will be held on June 8th. Please stop by 81 Congress Street on that date  after Noon and enjoy a cup of Alex's Lemonade!

One Night - Twelve Dinners!  Join us on Saturday, May 17th for a series of intimate dinners in the homes of the Newburyport area's most gracious hosts!  Each dinner features a special guest who is a performing artist or a leader in the business, medical, civic, academic, science, sports or arts community who shares his/her talents or insightful ideas during the evening.

YWCA Grand Re-Opening Celebration

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: YWCA  Market Street Newburyport

The YWCA of Greater Newburyport invites you to the grand re-opening of the new health and wellness facility.  Bring your bathing suit and towel and enjoy our new lap pool and warm water pool.  Enjoy performances from Peter Sheridan and Madeleine from Itsy Bitsy Music.

Participate in a YWCA fitness demonstration and other special events, including a treasure hunt, moon bounce, musical entertainment, face painting, crafts and other fun activities!  Adults can meet with a personal trainer, check out the brand new fitness equipment and participate in various group exercises.  There will be cool give-aways and fabulous raffle prizes!  Local food vendors will be selling refreshments on Market Street.  For more information contact the YWCA at 978-465-9922

19th Annual Golf Tournament

Time: Shotgun Start at 1:00 p.m.
Where: The Links at Outlook, South Berwick, ME
Hosted by: Amesbury Chamber of Commerce & Industrial Foundation

Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of golf at the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce & Industrial Foundation's 19th Annual Golf Tournament.  The Links is one of this region’s premiere eighteen-hole courses and features spectacular views on a 140-acre course built in the Scottish tradition and designed to have the flavor of Old Traditional Courses.  The day will be punctuated by a fabulous meal, and golfers will receive a ‘swag bag’ that includes a classy golf towel, a gorgeous divot tool set, and other gifts provided by our generous sponsors.

This year's format will be a four-person team scramble. Prizes will be awarded both to the teams with the lowest gross scores and to the teams with the lowest net scores after taking into account handicaps.  The cost per player is $150, and includes Greens Fees, Cart Fees, Box Lunch, Dinner and Prizes. Silent Auction and Raffle Drawings Open To the Public

As a way for the public and non-golfers to support the event, it will feature a silent auction and raffle drawings for thousands of dollars worth of items donated by several local merchants and service providers. The auction opens at Noon. and bidding closes at the conclusion of the tournament.  A listing of the silent auction and raffle prizes will be coming soon, so check back to see all of the great items you can bid on!

Join us for the 10th Annual Block Party on June 25th at the Gazebo at Huntington Square.  Sample delicious delights from local restaurants.  Enjoy a variety of entertainment, including music from the Dick Kaplan Band, pony rides, hayrides, face painting, clowns, puppets, a yo-yo demonstration and more!  Event is free and open to the public.  Proceeds raised from food and ride sales benefit the Alliance Charitable Foundation.

Powow Triathlon

Time: 8:00 a.m.
Sponsors Amesbury Chamber of Commerce & Industrial Foundation; Riverside Cycles; Anna Jaques Hospital; The Wound Care Center at Anna Jaques Hospital; Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank; ReMax on the River and City Sports.

    

Come cheer on the athletes as they compete in the annual Powow Triathlon.  The event will begin with a .5 mile swim at Lake Gardner, followed by a 12.6 mile bike race and end with a 3.2 mile run.  Event begins at 8 a.m.  For more information visit www.powowtriathlon.com
